Futureman is one of the most recognizable super heroes today. He was sent from the future to prevent the horrible destiny that awaits the world. In the future, Futureman was simply known as Jonathan Cook, a patent attorney in the U.K. law firm of Gersgwin, Tubers & Connolly. He was a happily married family man when he began experiencing strange premonitions of future events. Most of the visions where irrelevant slices of everyday life, such as a man and women arguing in the street. Or a child petting a dog. Jonathan quit his day job and used his new found talent as a sideshow attraction, traveling from town to town under the monicker The Future Man! where he would perform for live audiences as part of carnivals and circuses. The Future Man's career sky rocketed as no one could explain his god given gifts. He was earning large sums of money performing at large events and making television appearnces. Soon his visions became more intense and he began seeing detailed scenes of important events. He successfuly predicted the Gray Thursday stock market crash and the assassination of the Grand Duke Limber of Duchy. Stock market speculators, real estate developers and other business operations began seeking out the powers of Futureman, paying him to work as a consultant. Jonathan soon became a multimillionaire and his new control of his visions allowed him to have witnessed the building of a time machine and other new technologies. With his new found knowledge Jonathan Cook established his own independent technology and manufacturing firm, He named his company Futureman and successfuly built and marketed the first time machine, flight suit and energy crystal engine. Jonathan Cook was now one of the richest people in the world and used his powers to help benefit humanity. It was around this time Jonathan should have been thinking about retirement when he experienced one of the most shocking images of his career. He witness the end of the world and the death of all humanity! The premonition takes a great physical toll on Jonathan sending him into a coma like state of shock. He soon recovers and know knowing he is the last chance to save humanity he convieces a plan to save the world. After careful research and study he traces a succesion of events that will inevitable lead to the final doomsday. He pin points one single event at a specific moment in time that could potentially change the course of time and save the world from total annilation.
